COMPUTER AND INTERNET ACCEPTABLE USE POLICY (CIAUP)
A. POLICY, BRIEF AND PURPOSE
AMA is a Learning Institution and Business Organization.
As a Learning Institution, it allows students to use its IT, Network and Internet resources consistent with their learning goals.
As a business organization, it allows its employees to use its IT, Network and Internet resources in accordance with its business processes and consistent with the company’s business objectives and IT policies.
The use of these resources are permitted for both purposes as long as it does not pose any privacy, security, and other related risks.
The use of AMA's infrastructure and internet access is a mere privilege, inappropriate use will thereof may result in the revocation of said privilege. The company reserves the right to define inappropriate use and the consequences thereof.
B. PROHIBITED/RESTRICTED SITES
Prohibited use of the company’s IT resources include:
b.1. Those utilized for the purposes of:
Pornography
Gambling
Playing computer games
Conducting or participating in Auctions
Proliferation or support of Hate sites
Installation or transmission of materials in violation of national or international laws including, but not limited to, copyrighted materials, threatening or obscene materials, site engaging in or encouraging illegal activity or activities that are NOT supportive of the business objectives of the company.
b.2. Transmitting or disclosing of information deemed confidential, privileged or restricted by AMA, including documents generated or owned by or intended for the exclusive use of AMA
C. USE OF MONITORING SOFTWARES
To protect itself, the company reserves the right to use MONITORING SOFTWARES to make sure the company's IT Resource Policies are being adhered to by its computer users. The company may record and/or monitor one or more users' computer and Internet activity for any reason and without any specific notice.
However, these MONITORING SOFTWARE are used for exclusively for the purpose described above and any personal information gathered from the user may be collected but not stored, disclosed, or utilized for any purpose, except when so collected or stored with permission from the user.
D. USE OF INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS
AMA supports the intellectual property rights of software and data owners and it therefore strictly requires that use of its IT resources, including computer units, shall not in any manner infringe on said rights. All users are precluded from downloading, installing, copying, or reproducing any and all software or datato and from this computer unit, and the data or the system drive belonging to software owners such as Adobe, Autodesk and Microsoft, without the permission license from the said owners. The users are warned that software illegally downloaded shall be attributable to the user whose usage is immediately before the illegal downloading, who shall be solely civilly and criminally responsible for copyright infringement. Should AMA be proceeded against by the software owners, AMA reserves its right to proceed against the said last user to answer for such liability.
E. DISCIPLINARY ACTION
Violators shall be subjected to the company's code of conduct, without prejudice to any other legal remedies which it may resort to in accordance with law.
F. DATA PRIVACY CONSENT AGREEMENT
AMA recognize their responsibilities under the Republic Act No. 10173 (Act), also known as Data Privacy Act of 2012, with respect to the data they collect, record, organize, update, use, consolidate or destruct from its employees/students. The personal data obtained from this portal is entered and stored within the Institute’s authorized information and communications system and will only be accessed by AMA’s authorized personnel. AMA have instituted appropriate organizational, technical and physical security measures to ensure the protection of employees/students personal data.
AMA shall not disclose the employees/students personal information without their consent and shall retain this information over a period of ten years
PRIVACY NOTICE:
By entering our website, you hereby consent that AMAes will get:

G. STUDENTS/EMPLOYEES/USERS CONSENT
I have read the Institute’s Data Privacy Statement and express my consent for AMA to collect, record, organize, update or modify, retrieve, consult, use, consolidate, block, erase or destruct my personal data as part of my information.
I hereby affirm my right to be informed, object to processing, access and rectify, suspend or withdraw my personal data, and be indemnified in case of damages pursuant to the provisions of the Republic Act No. 10173 of the Philippines, Data Privacy Act of 2012 and its corresponding Implementing Rules and Regulations.
